SuperSeedz generously allowed me to sample all eight varieties of pumpkin seeds for this blog post and are offering the same opportunity to three lucky readers. I received no compensation in providing this post or giveaway. All opinions are my own.
Pumpkin seeds (also known as pepitas) are inherently great for you: they’re high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats that help you feel satisfied longer. They’re prized for their high zinc content -- an important mineral that aids in proper immune function and may reduce how severe and how long your cold symptoms last...a must-have mineral, especially this time of year!
Plus the seeds are packed with manganese, which helps support healthy bone formation, and are loaded with multiple forms of vitamin E to help protect your cell membranes from those nasty things called free radicals that submit our cells to inappropriate damage (and age us quicker, too).
The seeds are also a good option for those who are allergic to peanuts/tree nuts and looking for an alternative product or for those who are looking for more plant-based protein options.
Now...I've tried to make pumpkin seeds on my own and you can try it at home too. But let me tell you - after meticulously sorting through pumpkin pulp, washing and drying the seeds, and burning them one to many times - this chick would rather buy.
Enter in Superseedz. They're conveniently dry roasted, shelled, and spiced in a variety of flavors including Really Naked, Sea Salt, Cinnamon & Sugar, Coco Joe, Tomato Italiano, Curious Curry, Somewhat Spicy and Super Spicy.
I tend to gravitate towards chocolate and spicy foods, so it's no surprise that my favorites were Coco Joe and Super Spicy. I added the Super Spicy to the top of a bowl of Bob’s Red Mill Veggie Soup and the Coco Joe (whose seeds happened to be clustered up like granola) to a half-cup of Greek yogurt - soooo good.
Here are ten delicious ways I incorporated the pumpkin seeds into some of my favorite foods. Pin this photo to save these ideas for later!
